Exploring the world of Japanese YouTubers has been an exciting journey. Watching YouTube has become a part of my daily life. I think many people share this habit. I want to introduce some Japanese YouTubers that I watch regularly from the countless channels available. Here is a list of my personal favorites, each bringing a unique flavor to their content.
Nami no Kurashi
Nami no Kurashi is a popular channel run by a Japanese blogger named Nami. She is a company employee living in Tokyo and shares videos of her daily life as a single person. Nami’s content is relatable and cozy, often featuring morning and night routines, room tours, and seasonal activities. The motto of the channel is “Tokyo is full of sparkling things, but let’s live at my own pace!” Despite her busy schedule, she leads a very meticulous lifestyle. She approaches all household tasks like cooking, cleaning, and organizing with a sense of enjoyment that many people might find surprising given how tedious these chores can be. She has a wide range of recipes and easily makes elaborate dishes, beautifully plating them on stylish plates. She enjoys creating various dishes by using vegetables and fruits sent from her family or rare ingredients she finds at the supermarket. She never forgets to be grateful, and her considerate actions reflect her good upbringing. Many overseas fans are also captivated by her lifestyle.
Tsuji channel
Tsuji Nozomi was originally active as a member of a popular idol group, but now she is a mother of four and is active on YouTube and television. With four growing children, she cooks large meals every day. Her quick and efficient cooking while chatting is impressive. Despite being busy with housework, laundry, and childcare, she remains stylish and cute, and her efforts to entertain her family captivate viewers. She lives in a large house with a balcony, where in the summer, she sets up a big pool on the balcony and plays with her children. On sunny days, she makes obento lunches and they have picnics, filming their home life.
Rei Ran Ran
She showcases local favorites where you can enjoy cheap and delicious food, especially around Osaka. Her videos provide plenty of information to fully enjoy the izakaya culture in Osaka. Japan has a unique culture of ‘tachinomi’ or standing bars. In these places, you eat and drink while standing at a counter or small tables, without chairs. These bars are known for their cozy atmosphere and affordable prices, making them popular for a quick drink after work. Tachinomi originally had the image of being frequented by older men, but recently, more and more places are becoming popular among young people as well. She films herself enjoying conversations with staff and tipsy regulars. She introduces many small, lesser-known local spots, making viewers want to visit them when they tour Osaka.
Uketsu
Uketsu is a masked horror writer known for his handmade mask and all-black attire. His appearance, deep voice, and videos all have a strong impact, instilling fear in his audience. He gained popularity on YouTube, leading to book publications and even a movie adaptation, making him a well-known horror YouTuber. Not only are Uketsu’s videos terrifying, but they also include many moments that make you chuckle. This unique blend of horror and humor perfectly showcases Uketsu’s charm and adds a distinctive twist to his content. The combination of scares and laughs keeps the audience engaged and entertained, making his videos truly stand out.
Russian Sato
Russian Sato is a competitive eater YouTuber. Despite her slender frame of 168 cm and 48 kg, she effortlessly finishes 6 kg of ramen. Not only does she eat, but she is also skilled at cooking. She prepares large quantities of food and consumes it all. The cooking scenes are impressive as she cooks amounts akin to a dining hall. Watching her eat with such gusto is truly satisfying.
Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy exploring the content created by these wonderful YouTubers as much as I do. Happy watching!
